FAME IN JET FUEL

SA5000-2 FIJI JF – FAME IN JET INSTRUMENT
SA5000-2 FIJI JF – FAME IN JET INSTRUMENT

CONTAMINATION (Particulate, Residues and Composition)

FIJI JF  – FAME IN JET INSTRUMENT.  According to the methods IP 583, ASTM D7797, DEF STAN 91-91 & ASTM D1655 Jet Fuels for the determination of the fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) contained in the AVTUR aviation turbine fuel, using Infrared Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy – Method of Quick Screening

  • FIJI can identify all types of FAME from C8 to C22 including Coconuts, Mustard, Palm, Rapeseed, Sunflower Oil, Soya, and Jatropha
  • Analysis time: 20 minutes
  • Certified measuring range from 10 to 150 mg/kg of FAME in AVTUR
  • It can be used both in the laboratory and in the field
  • Fully automatic
  • Easy to use, it can also be used by non-specialized operators
  • It does not need solvents for cleaning
  • It does not require sample preparation
  • Sample volume: 50ml
  • Patent tool

FIJI uses only the “state of the art” of FTIR technology and a patented sample preparation system that allows a FAME detection from a level of 10 mg/kg.

FIJI is robust, extremely simple to use and completely automatic, so that it can be used by non-specialized operators.

The test requires less than 50 ml of sample and usually the time required is less than 20 minutes. The results are expressed in units mg/kg (ppm), together with a chromatic “traffic light” system (color change inside the cell where the cartridge is inserted, red-green), which indicates the levels of FAME contamination in the fuel.

The sample is pumped with a controlled flow rate through a disposable cartridge. The sample components are spectrally analyzed by FTIR and the result is displayed in mg/kg. The spectral curve is also displayed.

No solvents are required. After each test the cartridge is simply and easily replaced and the instrument is immediately ready for the next sample.
